IHG has signed agreements to open six new hotels under its Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands in India.
The properties will be managed by Intercontinental Hotels Group under contract with Delhi-based developer Amrapali Group, and will see IHG open two Holiday Inn hotels and four Holiday Inn Express properties by 2015.
The plans call for:
- Two Holiday Inn Express hotels to open in Noida (short for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority and located around 12 miles southeast of Delhi) and Indore-Pithampur (in the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India) in 2013, along with the debut of the Holiday Inn Suites brand, also in Noida
- A Holiday Inn Express to open in Jaipur Hitech City, and a Holiday Inn to open in Patna (the capital of the Indian state of Bihar) in 2014
- A Holiday Inn Express to open in Kochi-Aluva (in the state of Kerala) in 2015
There are now 45 IHG hotels in the group’s India pipeline, with 12 existing properties. IHG will also manage a Crowne Plaza property in Udaipur (a Amrapali Group development), with an opening date of the end of 2014.
