Hilton Worldwide has announced its first property in Muscat and only the group’s second hotel in Oman after the Hilton Salalah Resort.
The 232-room Hilton Garden Inn Muscat will feature a 24-hour business centre, free wifi, around 150 sqm of meeting space and the brand’s 24-hour Pavilion Pantry.
The hotel is scheduled to open in 2019, and will be located in the city centre on Dohat Al Adab Street, around 16km from Muscat International airport.
Commenting on the news Carlos Khneisser, vice president of development, Middle East and North Africa for Hilton Worldwide, said:
“With a well-established tourism industry and historic reputation as a trading hub, Muscat is continuing to develop its infrastucture in response to steady increases in business and leisure arrivals.
“Oman welcomes almost 3.5 million visitors each year and with Muscat’s expanding airport capacity, as well as the expected opening of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre this year, we look forward to supporting this growth and developing Hilton’s presence here.”
Hilton’s Garden Inn currently has 16 hotels either open or under development in the Middle East, with a global portfolio of 650 properties.
