Hilton to open Liverpool's first on-airport hotel
Published: 12/01/2009 - Filed under: News »
Liverpool’s John Lennon airport will gain its first hotel attached to the terminal building later this year, with the opening of a budget Hampton by Hilton property.
The 160-room hotel will form part of a £37 million development by Peel Holdings (Leisure Ltd) at the airport, which also includes a multi-storey car park. The property is due to open this summer, and will be attached to the airport’s terminal building by a covered bridge walkway.
Hilton refers to the Hampton offering as a “new kind of economy hotel”, with brand features including free internet access and “On the House” breakfast. The first Hampton by Hilton in the UK is due to open this spring in Corby (see online news November 21, 2007).
Two further Hilton hotels are currently under development in Liverpool – the Hilton Liverpool, due to open later this year, and the Hampton by Hilton Liverpool City slated for 2010.
