The JAL Resort Sea Hawk Hotel Fukuoka has been rebranded as a Hilton property, following the group’s decision to enter into a management agreement with one of Japan’s largest hotels.
The Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk is now Hilton Worldwide’s largest hotel in the Asia Pacific region, with a total of 1,052 rooms and over 6,000sqm of events space. Hilton says the property will undergo a US$20 million refurbishment project, initially focused on the executive floors, lobby and public areas.

Facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, three wedding chapels, “an extensive array of food and beverage outlets”, a 4,114sqm ballroom, six function rooms and 13 meeting rooms.
It’s the ninth hotel by the group in Japan, and the first in the south western city of Fukuoka, which according to Wikipedia has a greater city population of 2.5 million people (2005 census).
The hotel is located on the waterfront, and forms part of the Hawks Town entertainment complex, including the home of the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks baseball team.
