Hilton has opened a hotel in the Dutch city of The Hague, housed within the former Royal Dutch Telecom headquarters and located in the embassy quarter of the city.

Hilton The Hague features 195 rooms, as well as French restaurant Grand Cafe Pearl (inspired by the “'Girl with a Pearl Earring” painting by Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer), Bar Lutine, named after French Warship “La Lutine”, and ten meeting rooms up to a maximum capacity of 400 delegates.

The restored 1950’s property has interior design influences inspired by “the geographic and historical roots of The Hague”, including an atrium with “the atmosphere of the nearby dunes and seaside, with a six metre high sculpted sand wall”.

The Hague attracts a large number of business travellers and bureaucrats, being the Dutch seat of government and the de facto judicial capital of the United Nations, as well as the headquarters of multinational oil company Shell. Despite being the third largest city in the Netherlands, The Hague does not have its own airport, but Amsterdam to the northeast and Rotterdam to the southeast are both within easy reach by train or taxi.

Hilton The Hague is the fifth property by the brand in The Netherlands, joining two hotel in Amsterdam, alongside properties in Rotterdam and Soestduinen, northeast of Utrecht. Other upmarket properties in The Hague include Hotel Des Indes (A Starwood Luxury Collection hotel) and Savelberg, a Relais and Chateaux property on the outskirts of the city.
