Hilton Heathrow T5 to open in August

3 May 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Hilton Worldwide is set to unveil its Heathrow Terminal 5 property at the end of August, over three years after the hotel was first announced.

Business Traveller reported that Hilton was planning a hotel located close to Terminal 5 back in January 2008 (see online news January 28, 2008), and the group has now set an opening date of August 31 this year.

The property will be situated around a mile from the airport terminal on Poyle Road, and will be set in 13 acres of landscaped grounds, offering 350 rooms, all with Hilton Sirenity Beds, 37-inch flatscreen TVs, mp3 media hubs, wifi internet access and triple glazing. Executive Rooms and Suites will also be available with lounge access.

The hotel’s conference space will behoused within a dedicated area on the ground floor, with the main room capable of accommodating up to 1,170 delegates theatre-style, and further smaller executive boardrooms and syndicate rooms also available.

Signature restaurant Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen will be headed up by Cyrus Todiwala of Café Spice Namasté in central London, and there will be two further restaurants, including one featuring “a variety of national and inherently British dishes ranging from wholesome casseroles to the more traditional roast”.

Leisure facilities will include a spa with hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, fully equipped gym and eight treatment rooms.

This latest opening follows the unveiling of Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria hotel within London’s Syon Park (around seven miles from Heathrow), featuring Kallima spa, Capability restaurant and a Butterfly House in the lobby (see online news March 15).

Hilton also has an established hotel attached to Heathrow’s Terminal 4 – for indepth information on hotels, lounges, meeting options, parking, dining, shopping, and future developments at Europe's busiest hub, download our free guide to Heathrow airport.
