Hilton Barcelona reveals redesign

23 Jul 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Hilton Barcelona has officially reopened its doors following the refurbishment of its 289 rooms, 13 suites, outdoor terrace, Mosaic restaurant and Vibe bar.

Hilton Barcelona celebrated its original opening 20 years ago for the Barcelona Olympics. The property is located in the city's financial district, 15 minutes from the international airport by car, and features 17 meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 610 delegates.

It is among the first Hilton Hotels and Resorts properties to feature the brand’s new lobby design, with a focus on being a flexible community space. Amenities include a gym, 25 sqm guest rooms with separate working areas, 25-inch TVs and high-speed internet.

British designers Bevis Design Associates created the rooms, suites and Executive lounge. Architect Matteo Thun, who designed the lobby, said: “We’ve turned a 20-year-old building into a stylish and contemporary urban space.” The centrepiece of the lobby is a colourful art installation of translucent materials, courtesy of Milan-based artist Jacopo Foggini.
