Hilton Worldwide is to open its first properties in the Russian cities of Yaroslavl and Kazan, and will also add a second hotel in Moscow.

The 270-room Doubletree by Hilton, Moscow Leningradsky-Riverside is due to open in early 2012, and will be located in the northwest of the city. The hotel will feature a full-service restaurant and bar, fitness centre with indoor swimming pool, 1,200sqm of meeting space, a business centre and wifi internet access throughout. There will be a yacht club and marina next to the property, from where it will be possible to reach downtown Moscow by water.

The property joins the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya, the first Hilton hotel to open in Russia and housed within one of the city’s famous “Seven Sisters” skyscrapers (see online news August 27, 2008).

Meanwhile Hilton’s Garden Inn brand is set to debut in Yaroslavl, around 150 miles northeast of Moscow. Also due to open in 2012, the hotel will feature 179 rooms, a restaurant, lobby bar, and 576sqm of meeting space, including 10 meeting rooms and a ballroom.

Finally the Garden Inn brand will also debut in Kazan, Russia’s sixth largest city. The 171-room property is expected to open in 2014, and will feature an all-day restaurant, lobby bar, business centre, fitness facility and four meeting rooms.

Hilton now has 11 hotels either open or under development in Russia, with existing properties in Moscow, Perm, and Novosibirsk, and forthcoming hotels in Omsk, Perm, Sochi-Adler, Samara and Ulyanovsk.
