Happy mobile snapping at Heathrow T5
Published: 14/03/2010 - Filed under: News »
A new exhibition at Heathrow Terminal 5 will put most would-be photographers to shame, especially as all the images on show were taken on a mobile phone.
Photographer Henry Reichhold has taken more than 90 images of Mumbai and Dubai over eight days, one of which measures a whopping 10m x 3.5m (roughly the size of a London double-decker bus).
But amateur happy snappers reading this mustn’t be disheartened. Each image is actually composite of smaller pictures “stitched” together, giving each image extra detail.
Heathrow operator BAA said the collection contrasted the “poverty-stricken” streets of Mumbai against the Middle East’s “dizzying heights”.
The exhibition is sponsored by Nokia, which provided the N86 device used by Reichhold. It runs until May 2010 in T5’s Expo area.
