Germanwings to take over Heathrow-Cologne route

17 Jan 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Germanwings will fly three times-daily between London Heathrow and Cologne-Bonn from this March, taking over a route currently operated by parent company Lufthansa.

The move is similar to that announced in December, where Germanwings will take over Lufthansa services from Stuttgart to Heathrow (in February) and Manchester (in July) – see online news December 14, 2011.

Flight times from London for the new Germanwings services can be seen below.

Germanwings operates a fleet of A319 aircraft. For recent reviews of the carrier’s Best Seat product between London Stansted and Stuttgart, click here. The carrier operates a low-cost model with additional charges for checked baggage, snacks and drinks (unless bundled within the Best Seat option).
