Garuda unveils provisional London-Jakarta non-stop schedules

17 Feb 2016 by Alex McWhirter

Today we can glean an idea of Garuda’s planned summer schedules between London and Jakarta.

The Indonesian carrier has given little notice of the new provisional timings.  These take effect in just over one month’s time.  The short notice will mean that thousands of Garuda passengers will find their travel plans changed and, at the time of writing, the carrier’s website was continuing to show the current schedules with flights from Gatwick via Amsterdam.

Schedule information is now posted on Airline Route.

It now means Garuda will have a daytime flight between Jakarta and London.  The return service departs London in the late evening and arrives back in Jakarta the following day in the late afternoon.

Note that while the inbound flight from Jakarta makes a stop in Singapore (because of the weak runway at Jakarta – see news, November 17)  the departing flight from London will be non-stop.  See Online news, January 28.

Provisional schedules from March 31 are:

GA086 Jakarta-London Heathrow (via Singapore) depart 0745, arrive 1855.

GA087  London Heathrow-Jakarta (non-stop) depart 2110, arrive 1700 (following day).

Flights operate daily except Monday and Friday. Aircraft type remains a three-class B777-300ER.

Details of Garuda’s Jakarta-Amsterdam schedules from March 31 are not yet available.
