Garuda firms up London route for May 2014

29 Oct 2013 by Alex McWhirter

Garuda Indonesia had planned to launch flights between Jakarta and London Gatwick at around this time, but in July decided to postpone the service (see news, July 31).

But the national carrier today announced a new launch date of May 29 next year.

Initially, flights will operate three times a week — every Monday, Thursday and Saturday — rising to five services a week from September 30. Flight details are now published in airline GDDs.

Flight GA086 will depart Jakarta at 0105 to arrive into Gatwick the same morning at 0930. It will return as GA087 from Gatwick at 1100, to reach Jakarta at 0650 the next day.

The services will operate non-stop with three class B777-300ERs (see news, July 3).

Jakarta is a useful gateway for Australia and Business Traveller will bring you details of connecting flights nearer the time when details become available.

Please note that all schedules are subject to change.
