Rival luxury hotel group Jumeirah recently announced a 250-room property in Hangzhou (see online news January 6), and Dutch carrier KLM is to launch direct flights to the city from Amsterdam on May 8 (see online news March 19).

Four Seasons is currently developing seven other Chinese properties, in Guangzhou, Shanghai Pudong, Beijing, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Suzhou and two planned properties in Sanya.
