Starwood Hotels and Resorts has opened a new property in New York, the Four Points by Sheraton Midtown-Times Square.
Located on 40th Street in the heart of Broadway theatre district, the new-build 244-room hotel is the brand’s third to open in the Big Apple, after Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan SoHo Village and Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Chelsea.
The hotel lobby features art deco inspired design, while the guestrooms all have the brand's signature Four Comfort bed, free high-speed internet access and a 32-inch flat-screen television. The restaurant Gotham Bistro serves international cuisine along with classic Irish dishes. There is also a business centre and a 24-hour fitness facility.
Brian McGuinness, senior vice president of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood, said: “We are delighted to debut Four Points by Sheraton at the epicenter of New York City as a key part of our global growth and brand rejuvenation. Our expansion in New York also addresses the rising demand for affordable and stylish lodging in urban areas.”
In the past five years, more than $1 billion has been invested in the Four Points by Sheraton brand, resulting in a spate of property renovations, conversions and new-build hotels.
In other news from Starwood, Aloft Hotels has expanded its website to “bring the Aloft experience to life”. It now offers a guided tour of the hotel, maps and city guides for each location, and branded games such as bartending, billiards or travel trivia. See experiencealofthotels.com/explore
