Flybe to launch Leeds-Glasgow route

18 Apr 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Flybe is to launch twice-daily flights between Leeds Bradford and Glasgow from next month, following Bmi’s decision to drop the route from April 27.

The flights will be operated by franchise partner Loganair, with twice-daily flights on weekdays starting on May 8, and an additional Sunday evening service commencing on September 2.

A release by Glasgow airport said the flights would enable connections via Glasgow to destinations including Stornoway, Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Tiree, Barra and Benbecula.

The release also states that “Loganair has made a pro-active decision to set the price of its fully flexible business-type tickets some 10 per cent below the fares previously charged by Bmi British Midland on the route”.

Flights will be operated by 34-seater Saab 340B aircraft, and will depart from Glasgow at 0710 and 1715 on weekdays, and from Leeds Bradford at 0845 and 1850. The Sunday service will depart Glasgow at 1715 and Leeds at 1850.
