Flybe safeguards Belfast-Liverpool link

Flybe has stepped in to serve the Belfast-Liverpool route, after Ryanair announced it is to drop all flights from the northern Irish city from November.
The carrier will offer a total of 26 weekly flights between John Lennon Liverpool and George Best Belfast City airports (four per day on weekdays, and three per day at the weekend), starting on October 31.
The move means there will continue to be a link between Belfast and Liverpool, after Ryanair announced it is to close its base at Belfast City from this November, blaming the delay in the airport’s runway extension (see online news August 31).
In other news, Flybe has launched its route between Manchester and Manston airport in Kent. The daily route (except Saturday) departs Manchester at 1040 (1145 on Sunday), arriving in Manston at 1150 (1255 on Sunday), with the return leg leaving Manston at 1215 (1320 on Sunday), arriving in Manchester at 1325 (1430 on Sunday).
