Regional carrier Flybe has announced a new route from Birmingham airport to Lyon.
Daily flights (except Saturday) will commence on May 1, with the Lyon-bound service departing at 1030 (Monday to Friday) and 1745 on Sunday, and the Birmingham-bound flights leaving Lyon at 1340 (Monday to Friday) and 2055 on Sunday.
The route will be served with one of the carrier’s new 88-seater Embraer 175 jet aircraft.
The news follows today’s announcement that Bmi Regional will launch flights from Birmingham to Gothenburg, Lyon and Toulouse from May (click here for more details).
Earlier this week Flybe announced a restructuring plan aimed at saving £35 million annually, with proposals to cut around 300 staff (see online news January 24).
