First look: Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living

Business Traveller takes a look around Jumeirah's forthcoming luxury serviced apartments offering on London's Park Lane.
Later this month Jumeirah Living - an extension of the Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts brand - will open its first serviced residences in the UK and only the second worldwide, joining the Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence in Dubai.
Located next to the JW Marriott Grosvenor House property on Park Lane in London's Mayfair, the Grosvenor House Apartments are housed within a building which has undergone a complete renovation programme over the last seven years.
Only the property's facade has been retained, behind which 133 luxury apartments have been created around a seven-storey atrium. The property will see its soft opening on February 20, with an official unveiling at the start of April, when all apartments and hotel facilities will be up and running.

Access is via a discreet entrance on the corner of Park Lane and Mount Street, with a security desk on the ground floor. From here a lift takes guests up to the 2nd floor reception and lobby, where there will be an "informal all-day dining offering".
Apartments range from studios (of which there are 20, measuring between 34 and 64sqm), 64 one-bedroom residences, 37 two-bedroom residences, all the way up to the five-bedroom penthouse measuring around 450sqm and including terraces running the length of the building with views over Park Lane and Mayfair.
All apartments include full kitchens with gas hobs, oven, fridge, crockery and cutlery for four people, and Nespresso coffee machines, while "wet room" bathrooms feature separate bath and showers.
Decor is unashamedly masculine, with dark wood floors, tan leather sofas, and a predominantly grey and slate colour scheme, except in the larger penthouse apartments where there is a black and white art deco feel.
Apartments feel stylish and feature high-end furniture and fittings - the penthouse kitchens are by luxury German kitchen manufacturer Poggenpohl, and glassware and crockery are by Dartington and Royal Doulton.

All apartments feature free wifi and state-of-the-art touchscreen wall panels controlling everything from the air conditioning to lighting and curtains - the same controls can also be accessed via the in-room TVs, and guests will also be provided with iPads with a specially created app.
Guest facilities will include a gym, a partnership with Spa Illuminata to provide in-room treatments, and further partnerships with "leading Mayfair restaurants" to "recreate their dining experience within the private residences themselves".
Rates start from £450 per night for a studio apartment (with a minimum seven night-stay, and discounts for longer stays), up to £11,000 per night for the five-bedroom penthouse. For more information visit jumeirah.com/jumeirah-living.
