Find love with Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand (ANZ) is launching a “matchmaking” service for its passengers in the US and New Zealand, allowing them to chat online before flying to Auckland to meet up in person.
The carrier has launched a community website at thematchmakingflight.com, and is holding a series of events this October, starting with a party at its lounge in LAX on October 13, followed by the “matchmaking flight” to Auckland that evening.
The event culminates with The Great Matchmaking Ball on arrival in New Zealand on October 15, where American and Kiwi passengers will be able to meet up in person with those they have chatted with online.
Users can register their profiles online and chat to other members ahead of the event, which costs US$780 including return flights and tickets to the LAX party and Auckland ball.
ANZ is using various social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and You Tube to promote the event, but its not the first airline to attempt to create a community between two cities within its network. BA launched metrotwin.com last year, allowing users to discuss restaurants, hotels and attractions in the twinned cities of London and New York.
