All business-class carrier Eos Airlines has announced it will add two new routes to its network next year. The airline says it will commence flights between London Stansted and New York Newark in the spring, followed by a Paris-JFK route next autumn.

Eos currently serves New York's JFK airport from Stansted with 44 weekly flights, but says that it will start flights to the city's Newark hub due to demand from "New Jersey-based premium travellers and corporations". Although schedules for the new route have yet to be disclosed it is understood there will be 14 weekly flights on the new service, bringing the total number of Eos flight between London and New York to 58 per week.

The new route means Eos will join rivals Silverjet in serving Newark, although the latter flies out of London Luton rather than Stansted.

Meanwhile Eos says it will also commence flights between Paris and New York JFK in the autumn of 2008. This will bring the carrier into competition with French all-business class carrier L'Avion, which currently flies to New York Newark from Paris Orly. Eos has yet to confirm which Paris airport it will use for the new route.

The airline is due to purchase two further Boeing 757 aircraft, bringing its total fleet to eight, and says this will enable it to introduce "as many as four new routes in 2008".
