Passengers travelling to or through Dubai will soon find it easier to tag on a business visit to Baghdad.
Starting on July 1 Emirates will operate three weekly flights linking Dubai with Baghdad, Iraq. Services will be operated by A330-200s configured for 12 seats in first, 42 in business and 183 in economy class.
His highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, the carrier’s chairman and chief executive said, “The launch of services to Baghdad highlights our steadfast commitment to connecting the Arab world with the rest of the globe. As the last remaining Middle Eastern country to receive our services I am delighted that we have now come full circle.”
Sheikh Admed added, “Iraq is well on the road to recovery and we are confident that the time is right to commence our operations there.”
Flights will operate to morning timings every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Emirates expects business travellers, technical and engineering staff along with government officials to comprise the bulk of its passengers on this route.
