Emirates to fly A380 to Hamburg

29 Jul 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Emirates will operate a one-off flight between Dubai and Hamburg using its A380 superjumbo on September 24.

The carrier has yet to officially announce the move, but its online booking system shows the A380 rostered to flight EK0059 on Saturday September 24, departing Dubai at 0900 and arriving in Hamburg at 1340. The return leg EK0061 will leave Germany at 1500, landing back in Dubai at 1940.

Hamburg is of course no stranger to the A380, with final acceptance and delivery of the superjumbo for customers in Europe and the Middle East taking place at the city's Airbus factory.

Emirates will also move to a twice daily operation between Dubai and Hamburg from September 1. EK0061 will depart Dubai at 1500, arriving in Hamburg at 1940, with the return leg EK0062 departing at 2125, landing back in Dubai at 0540 the following day.

The carrier recently announced it will operate its A380 on the Dubai-Munich route from January 1, 2012, and also plans to add a third daily flight to Frankfurt - for more information see online news May 23.
