Emirates has opened a two-level lounge at Cape Town International airport.

It is the latest to feature the airline’s new lounge design, which includes Italian marble floors, walnut wood finishes and leather armchairs. Hot and cold gourmet buffets are available with a bar of premium champagne, spirits and South African and international wines.

Located near Emirates’ preferred boarding point at Gate A3, the lounge can host up to 123 passengers and is open to first and business class passengers as well as Skywards Platinum and Gold members. A complimentary chauffeur service to the airport is also available.

A business centre with touch screen workstations will be on offer with free wifi and lift service to the lounge’s upper level. The second floor has a sitting and TV area, dining room, restrooms with showers and a prayer room.

Emirates has dedicated lounges in 39 locations worldwide including London Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, New York and Sydney.

The airline currently operates two daily flights between Cape Town and Dubai on the B777. A third service is set to launch July 4.
