Emirates' London services will become an A380-only offering from the start of next year, when the carrier swaps its last B777 Gatwick service for the superjumbo on January 1.
The Gulf carrier currently operates five daily A380 services to Heathrow, as well as three daily flights to Gatwick (two with the A380 and one with a B777). Flights EK011 from Dubai, and EK012 from Gatwick will become A380 services from January 1.
Emirates had only recently moved forward its second Gatwick superjumbo service – originally planned for June this year but bumped forward to April as a result of passenger demand (see news, April 2015).
Along with the airline’s double daily A380 service to Manchester, the carrier will offer a total of 70 weekly superjumbo routes to and from the UK, more than any other country on the Emirates network.
