Easyjet to launch Manchester-Tel Aviv route

17 Apr 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Easyjet is to offer a twice-weekly service betwen Manchester and the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, adding to existing flights from London Luton airport.

The new year-round route will launch on November 1, with flights on sale from this Thursday (April 19). Rival low-cost carrier Jet 2 also currently offers a twice-weekly service between the two cities.

Easyjet has offered flights to Tel Aviv from Luton airport since 2009, with up to nine frequencies per week.

Commenting on the new route Ali Gayward, Easyjet UK commercial manager, said:

"There is a very strong cultural link between the North West of England and Tel Aviv, with a large Jewish community in Manchester and the surrounding areas, and we hope this direct route will demonstrate our commitment to providing low cost flight options for popular routes.”
