Easyjet is to launch year-round flights between Birmingham and Belfast International airports on October 22.
The route will initially operate daily, before rising to twice-daily on weekdays from October 29.
The carrier will compete with Bmibaby and Flybe, both of which serve Belfast City airport from Birmingham.
The new route will mean Easyjet will serve a total of 23 destinations from Belfast, and it will be the carrier’s first year-round service to and from Birmingham.
Easyjet will also add extra frequencies on its Manchester-Belfast route, with a third daily flight on Monday, Thursday and Friday starting “during the airline’s winter schedule”.
