Easyjet launches new Marrakech, Sofia and Sharm el-Sheikh services

15 Feb 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Low-cost carrier Easyjet is preparing to launch three new routes to Marrakech, Sofia and Sharm el-Sheikh over the next few days.

All three services will operate from London Stansted airport, with flights to the Moroccan city of Marrakech launching today (February 15), followed by the Bulgarian capital Sofia tomorrow (February 16) and the Egyptian coastal resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday (February 17).

On the London-Marrakech route Easyjet already operates from Gatwick (along with BA), and the new route will also be competing with Ryanair (which flies to the city from both Stansted and Luton).

Several carriers operate flights between London and Sofia, including BA (from Heathrow), Bulgaria Air (from Heathrow), and Wizz Air (from Luton). Easyjet also serves the city from Gatwick.

On the London-Sharm el-Sheikh route Easyjet already operates flights from Gatwick and Luton, while Monarch Airlines flies from Gatwick, Thomas Cook offers seasonal services from Stansted and Gatwick, and Thomson Airways operates seasonal services from Gatwick, Luton and Stansted.
