Easyjet will add a new Gatwick to Bucharest service from October as one of five new routes for the upcoming winter season.
The new route to the Romanian capital will operate four days per week - Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday - from October 17.
Paul Simmons, Easyjet's UK director, said: "Easyjet currently doesn't fly to Bucharest from any other UK base so we are hugely excited to be in a position to launch it and include it in schedule.
"We fly to the places our passengers tell us they most want to visit and Romania has been repeatedly suggested so I'm really pleased to be in a position to announce this new route is being added to our schedule."
The budget carrier is also this winter introducing routes from Manchester to Lyon (Saturday), Liverpool John Lennon to Larnaca (Tuesday and Saturday), Luton to Venice (Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) and Newcastle to Tenerife (Wednesday and Saturday).
In total, the five routes will add 190,000 seats to the Easyjet network this winter compared to last year.
Last month it emerged that Easyjet has struck a deal with Stansted to more than double its passenger numbers at the Essex airport to six million (see online news, June 13).
