Doubletree by Hilton is to make its debut in Romania when the upmarket brand opens in Oradea in September next year.

Oradea, capital city of Romania’s Bihor County and close to the Hungarian border, has been chosen by Hilton as home to only the third property of any its brands in the country.

The Doubletree by Hilton, Oradea, is expected to offer 147 guestrooms plus meetings facilities for up to 350 delegates. The new-build hotel will also feature a restaurant, bar, spa and swimming pool.

Hilton said the property, located 1km from Oradea’s city centre, would benefit from new highways connecting it to Romania’s central cities and neighbouring Hungary.

The Doubletree Oradea joins the Hilton Sibiu which opened in July this year, and the Athenee Palace Hilton, Bucharest, Hilton’s first Romanian property which debuted in 1997.

Hilton said it was in discussions over further projects in Romania and throughout Eastern Europe.
