Rome's Hotel Eden today joined the Dorchester Collection.
The 121-room property, which is one of the capital's most celebrated hotels, will now undergo major restoration work. It was previously run by Starman Hotels.
Hotel Eden is located between the Spanish Steps and Via Veneto.
On the sixth floor, it has a restaurant, La Terrazza dell'Eden, bar and terrace garden, all providing spectacular views across the Rome skyline.
Christopher Cowdray, CEO of the Dorchester Collection, said: "Hotel Eden is an exciting addition to our portfolio as it is one of the world’s most majestic and iconic hotels in a truly superb setting.
"Its landmark status, heritage and individuality complement the style and locations of our other nine hotels in the UK, France, Switzerland, Italy and the US."
The timing and scale of the restoration work have yet to be comfirmed, the Dorchester Collection said.
