Cityjet to drop Manchester-Antwerp service

21 Aug 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Air France subsidiary Cityjet is to drop its Manchester-Antwerp service from mid-September.

It’s currently the only Cityjet service from Manchester airport, and the only non-stop service by any carrier between Manchester and Antwerp.

Cityjet serves the route six times-weekly using Fokker 50 aircraft, but when searching for flights after September 17 on the carrier’s online reservation system users are shown the following message:

“We are unable to find recommendations for your search. Please change your search criteria and resubmit the search.”

The carrier has also confirmed the route will be dropped via its official Twitter page, with the following reply to Business Traveller:

"@BTUK Sadly yes, this route ends at the end of sept. Our apologies for any inconvenience, please contact customercare@cityjet for more info."

The carrier also serves the Belgian city from London City, with up to five flights per day, also using Fokker 50 aircraft.
