16 Mar 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Air France subsidiary Cityjet has added a fourth-daily weekday service between London City and Edinburgh, as well as Sunday evening flight from London to the Scottish capital.

The move will see the carrier establish a permanent base at Edinburgh airport, with around 40 employees including flight crew, ground staff and engineers.

From today (March 16), flights depart London City at 0705, 1300, 1655 and 1845 on weekdays, with the return legs leaving Edinburgh at 0700, 0855, 1500 and 1855.

In addition a new Sunday service will commence this weekend, departing London at 2050, and Cityjet also offers a Saturday flight from Edinburgh, leaving at 0900.

British Airways also flies between London City and Edinburgh, operating under its BA Cityflyer subsidiary.

Cityjet recently added new functionality to its website at cityjet.com, allowing customers to access their bookings online to make amendments, check flight status and check in via mobile devices (see online news February 3).
