UK hotel group City Inn has rebranded its six existing properties under the name Mint Hotel, and will open two new hotels in London and Amsterdam over the next few months.
The group, which has properties in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow, has opted for the rebranding following recognition that there was “a misperception of the brand in the marketplace”.
It added that research showed the City Inn name “did not do justice to the overall experience of the brand, which has built its reputation on offering outstanding quality, innovation, exemplary customer service and good value for money”.
Signature features of the brand include Apple iMacs in every room, along with complimentary video libraries, and free wifi throughout the hotels.
Mint Hotel will also expand with two new properties in the coming months. First up is the group’s second property in London, the 583-room Mint Hotel Tower of London which is due to open on December 20. The hotel joins the brand’s existing London property at Westminster.
The London opening will be followed by the launch of Mint Hotel overseas, with a 533-room property set to open in Amsterdam in spring 2011.
