China Southern A380 services from Beijing from October 18

12 Sep 2011 by BusinessTraveller

China Southern will operate its first superjumbo on the Beijing-Guangzhou route from October 18, before switching to the Beijing-Shanghai route from October 27.

The carrier has now loaded A380 reservations into its online booking system, with the superjumbo operating on flight CZ3000 from Beijing, departing at 1000 and arriving in Guangzhou at 1315. The return leg CZ3999 will leave Guangzhou at 1600, landing back in Beijing at 1915.

From October 27 the A380 will switch on to flight CZ6000, departing Beijing at 1000, and arriving at Shanghai’s Hongqiao airport at 1215. The return leg CZ6999 will leave Shanghai at 1500, landing back in Beijing at 1725.

This domestic A380 service ceases to be listed on the site after October 29, and it’s not yet clear where the superjumbo will operate to/from after this date, although it is believed the carrier’s first international A380 flight will be between Guangzhou and Paris.

In July China Southern confirmed it will offer a three-class economy, business and first class layout on its A380 aircraft, offering a total of 506 seats (see online news July 27). The carrier is set to unveil more details about the aircraft's seating product at a press conference on September 20.
