China Southern A380 layout leaked

4 Apr 2011 by BusinessTraveller

The configuration for China Southern’s forthcoming A380 aircraft has apparently been leaked on Chinese micro-blogging site Sina Weibo, showing a three-class layout with first class on the lower deck.

As reported by industry website airlineroute.net, the seatplan shows the superjumbo configured with eight first class seats in two rows of 1-2-1 on the lower deck, and 70 business class seats on the upper deck, in a staggered 1-2-1 layout.

Economy is split between the upper and lower deck, configured 2-4-2 upstairs and 3-4-3 downstairs, with a total of 428 economy seats across the two decks, and 506 seats across all classes.

If the image is correct, it will make China Southern’s A380 the third most densely populated superjumbo after Air France (538 seats in its three-class layout) and Lufthansa (526 seats).

China Southern’s first A380 made its maiden flight from Toulouse to Hamburg for cabin installation and painting last month (see online news March 6), and is due to be delivered to the carrier later this year.
