Travellers are opposed to the £1 charge recently announced for dropping passengers off at Luton airport, according to a survey at businesstraveller.com.
A resounding 87.5 per cent of repondents said that Luton airport should not be allowed to charge drivers to use its drop off zone, with just 12.5 per cent agreeing with the fee.
The low-cost airport is to charge drivers £1 to use its renovated drop-off zone outside the terminal building from the end of this month. The charge will be levied for each vehicle entering the zone, and will allow drivers to stop for up to ten minutes.
Luton airport says that it is also making available an alternative drop-off facility in a section of its mid-term car park, use of which will be free of charge (although passengers will then have to take a free shuttle ride to the terminal building).
