Brussels Airlines unveils new fully-flat business seat

10 Jan 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Brussels Airlines has unveiled its new fully-flat business class seat, which will launch on the carrier’s forthcoming route to New York later this year.

The new business class cabin features a staggered 1-2-1 / 2-1-2 layout, allowing 24 seats to have direct aisle access, and offering nine individual seats.

Each seat will offer a 77.5-inch fully-flat bed featuring an integrated massage function and adjustable lumbar cushion, as well as a 15.3-inch TV screen, 100 hours of in-flight entertainment, and ports for laptop power and USB connections.

Brussels Airlines will also launch a new long-haul economy cabin this year, featuring an “ergonomic seat design with high quality material and an adjustable leather headrest”, 33 inches of leg room, “increased seat recline”, an 8.9-inch TV screen, and a USB power port for charging MP3 devices.

The first flights to feature the new seating will be Brussels Airlines’ forthcoming route to New York, which is set to be relaunched in June (see online news January 3). The carrier says that its entire long-haul fleet will be fitted with the new economy and business class cabins.
