Boeing and ANA prepare for Dreamliner celebrations

25 Sep 2011 by BusinessTraveller

ANA has taken contractual delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with an official ceremony taking place on Monday and being streamed live on the manufacturer's website.

Contractual delivery was completed on Sunday September 25 after "a series of flights, inspections and the transfer of funds", and the official celebrations will start at 0600 Pacific time on Monday September 26, outside Boeing's 787 factory in Everett.

There will be a static display of one of the 787 test flight aircraft painted in ANA livery, followed by the delivery ceremony at 0900.

The launch aircraft "Airplane 24", painted in a special ANA livery (see online news June 22) is then scheduled to take off from Paine Field bound for Tokyo at 0635 on Tuesday September 27.

Both the delivery celebrations and flyaway will be streamed live on Boeing's website at newairplane.com.

Business Traveller will be at the delivery event in Everett, and will post further details on this site following the celebrations.
