Bmibaby adds Cardiff-Barcelona route
Published: 18/03/2008 - Filed under: News »
Bmibaby will become the first carrier to offer flights from Cardiff to Barcelona, when it starts a twice-weekly service in May.
Flights will start on May 24, leaving Cardiff International airport on Tuesdays (departing at 1440) and Saturdays (departing at 1305), and returning from the Catalan capital at 1825 and 1720 respectively. A third weekly flight will start on June 18, departing from Cardiff on Wednesdays at 1915, and returning at 2305.
The announcement follows news that Bmibaby will fly between Manchester and Barcelona from this September (see online news February 26) – the budget carrier already serves the Spanish city from its hub in Birmingham.
Barcelona is proving a growing destination for UK visitors, with BA also due to start a new Cityflyer service from London City airport in May.
