Bmi Regional launches Bristol-Frankfurt route

2 Apr 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Bmi Regional has launched its latest route since becoming an independent carrier last year.

The new six times-weekly Bristol-Frankfurt service is the first time the two cities have been linked with non-stop flights for nearly four years (when the route was served by Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings, with Bmi codesharing).

The service will be expanded to double daily (everyday except Saturday) from May 13.

Initially flight BM1825 will depart Bristol at 1205, landing into Frankfurt at 1435, with the return leg BM1826 leaving the German financial hub at 1520 and arriving back into the UK at 1600.

From May 13 the service will move to a choice of 0650 and 1645 departures from Bristol, arriving at 0920 and 1915 respectively, with the return legs leaving at 0950 and 2005, landing back into Bristol at 1030 and 2045.

The early morning departure from Bristol and evening flights from Frankfurt should allow for a full day's business travel between the two cities.

The Frankfurt route follows the launch of Bmi Regional flights between Bristol and Hamburg last month, and the carrier will also commence flights to Hanover and Munich from the airport in May.

Commenting on the new service Shaun Browne, aviation director at Bristol Airport, said:

“Frankfurt is an interesting destination for leisure visitors, but the big win is for businesses across the South West and South Wales who now have a direct link to one of Europe’s leading commercial centres.”
