Marriott’s Autograph Collection is to gain its first German property later this year, when the historic Hotel am Steinplatz reopens after extensive renovation works.
The property celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and is located in West Berlin close to the Berlin Zoological Garden and the city’s famous Kurfurstendamm shopping street.
The renovated property will offer 84 rooms, three suites, a restaurant, lobby lounge and bar, meeting space and spa and fitness facilities.
Marriott launched the Autograph Collection in 2009, a portfolio of “upper upscale and luxury, independent hotels” (see online news November 13, 2009).
In Europe the brand counts four AC Hotels as a result of Marriott’s deal with the Spanish Hotel company (see online news May 20, 2011), as well as six Boscolo properties (see online news July 19, 2011), and three recently announced hotels in Lisbon, Lille and Rouen (see online news September 19, 2012).
