BA Cityflyer is to launch year-round flights from London City airport to the southern Spanish city of Granada from July 25.

The British Airways subsidiary will serve the route up to four times-weekly using an Embraer E190 aircraft.

Flights will depart LCY on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 0910, arriving into Granada at 1250, with the return leg leaving at 1335 and landing back into London at 1515.

The carrier will operate an additional Thursday service between July 25 and August 29, departing LCY at 1520 and arriving at 1900, with the return leg leaving at 1940 and landing back into London at 2120.

There are currently no non-stop scheduled services from the UK to the Andalusian city, home to the historic Alhambra citadel and palace.

BA Cityflyer has also announced it will increase the frequency of its LCY-Malaga service from four to six flights per week, commencing July 25.
