BA is to launch a pop-up venue in Shoreditch, East London, showcasing its Great Britons talent in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
“Flight BA2012” will be located at 3-10 Shoreditch High Street, and will offer guests a three-in-one dining, cinema and art experience.
For £50 visitors will get entry to the gallery and screening room, where they will be able to view Boy, a short film created by Prasanna Purwanarajah and starring Timothy Spall, as well as images of the forthcoming Dove livery designed by Pascal Anson for the Games.
To celebrate the Olympic Games inspired menus created by Simon Hulstone (with mentorship from Heston Blumenthal), guests will also receive a welcome glass of champagne, a sit down three-course meal with amuse bouche, and tea, coffee and petit four.
BA says the pop-up venue has been designed “to recreate a premium flying experience”, and will open on select weekdays between April 4 and 17, with bookings open from March 19 at facebook.com/britishairways.
Those not visiting the venue will be able to sample the Games-inspired livery, film and food in-flight over the next few months. The livery and short film will appear on selected aircraft from April, while Hulstone’s menu will be served in-flight on long-haul services departing Heathrow between July and September.
