British Airways to add B777 to Nassau route

British Airways is to upgrade its Heathrow-Nassau-Grand Cayman route to a B777 aircraft from this summer. The carrier currently operates five flights per week to the Bahamian capital using B767 aircraft, with four of them carrying onto Grand Cayman. This will be reduced to a four times-weekly service from March 27 (with all services continuing to Grand Cayman), but from July 1 BA will switch the B767 on the route to a larger B777. The new B777 services will offer a three-class World Traveller, World Traveller Plus and Club World layout. Commenting on the upgrade Diane Corrie, British Airways’ commercial manager, Caribbean, said: “The larger aircraft will be welcomed by the business communities on both islands including executives of the banking and finance sector, insurance companies and law firms and residents of The Bahamas who travel frequently to London and beyond on British Airways.
