BA OpenSkies tickets now on sale

23 May 2008 by BusinessTraveller

British Airways’ subsidiary OpenSkies has begun selling tickets on its Paris – New York route ahead of its June 19 launch.

The new airline will fly daily between Paris Orly and New York JFK, and will feature three classes: Economy, with 30 leather seats and personal entertainment systems with over 50 hours of audio and video choices; Prem+, a new class featuring 28 seats with a 52’ pitch, 140-degree recline, and two power sockets; and Biz, with 24 six-foot long fully-flat beds, and an la carte meals and wine service.

This means there will be a maximum of 82 passengers on any one flight. Economy fares start from €830 return (Saturday night stay required), with Prem+ from €1,159 (this price must be booked by June 16, for travel before August 31), and Biz from €2,269  (again a Saturday night stay is required).

Passengers will be able to earn Executive Club miles on the new airline, and checked luggage allowances are two bags (maximum 23 kg per piece) in economy and Prem+, and three bags in Biz.

The airline will use a Boeing 757 to ply the route, with flight EC001 departing Paris at 1055 and arriving into New York at 1325. The return leg EC002 departs the US at 1730, arriving back into Paris at 0725 the next day.

OpenSkies plans to have six 757s in operation by the end of 2009, with routes from New York to Brussels, Milan, Frankfurt and Amsterdam all under consideration.
