British Airways has launched a new iPad version of its mobile travel app, with extra features including a 3D globe for flight searches.
Users can create a viewing plan for the in-flight entertainment on their flight, by dragging and dropping for the menu of available TV shows, movies and music.
The interactive 3D globe allows travellers to search and book flights, and boarding passes can be downloaded “with a bar code produced in each of the iPad’s four corners, for ease of use at the gate”.
Commenting on the launch of the new iPad app, Sara Dunham, BA’s head of marketing retail and direct channels said:
“Our customers are always on the move and are often pressed for time, so designing an app for iPad users made perfect sense.
“Now they can use the same functions that appear on our smartphone app, with some new extra features, on a wider and even more user-friendly screen. The new app is the latest move to make the travelling experience easier and smoother for British Airways customers.”
BA recently updated its travel app to include a Reward Flight Finder feature (see news December 16, 2015), and also introduced new mobile boarding scanners at Heathrow T3 and T5, for use with its Apple Watch app (see news December 12, 2015 on our sister website seatplans.com).
The new iPad app is available to download from the Apple App store here.
