BA adds year-round Barcelona route from LCY
Published: 25/02/2010 - Filed under: News »
BA is to increase its London City-Barcelona route to a year-round service, and is also launching flights to Majorca and Ibiza from the airport.
BA Cityflyer had previously only offered a summer service for its LCY-Barcelona flights, but will increase this to a year-round offering when flights resume at the end of March. The carrier will also add a seventh weekly flight to the route in May, departing on Saturday morning.
BA also offers flights from London Heathrow to Barcelona, while Easyjet serves the Catalan city from Luton, Gatwick and Stansted.
Cityflyer will also be introducing flights from LCY to Majorca and Ibiza in May, adding to its Spanish services to Madrid and Barcelona. The BA subsidiary is currently taking delivery of new Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft, replacing its Avro aircraft serving the airport (see online news September 4, 2009).
