Avis adds Audi models to renamed Select Series

Car rental company Avis has increased the choice of vehicles available in its Select Series range. Previously known as Choice Fleet, the Select Series allows customers to choose specific models of cars, rather than simply the group of car that most rental companies (and indeed the rest of the Avis range) offer.
Select Series customers can now choose from seven models: the Audi A4 Saloon and Estate and the A6 Saloon, the VW Golf, Sharan and Passat Estate, and the Peugeot 207CC. Avis has also added an eighth location for Select Series rentals, in Mayfair, central London, to add to the seven airport depots at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Says Daniel McCarthy, commercial director, Avis:
"The new name, Select Series, reflects both the fact that we are giving customers an even greater choice of cars to select from and the fact that those vehicles are themselves high quality, select models. We are delighted to add Audi models to our Select Series. Like the VWs, they are cars which our customers have told us they prefer to drive."
Avis says that lead-in prices for Select Series rentals from Manchester Airport in May are from £65 per weekend and £146 per week for a VW Golf, and £131 per weekend and £246 per week for an Audi A4 Saloon.
