Asiana to increase Seoul-London flights

5 Aug 2011 by BusinessTraveller

South Korean carrier Asiana Airlines will increases frequencies on its Seoul-London route from five-times weekly to daily this winter.

From October 30 the airline will add flights on Monday and Wednesday, departing Seoul Incheon at the same time as existing services (1330, arriving at 1720, except on Monday when the flight will depart at 1130, arriving at 1520). The return leg will leave London at 2100, arriving back in Seoul at 1650 the following day.

Note that from December 14, 2011 to January 10, 2012, the carrier will offer a six-times weekly service, with no Wednesday departure.

Rival carrier Korean Air currently offers a daily service between the two cities, departing Seoul at 1325, and returning from London at 1935.

As a result of the increased frequencies on the London-Seoul route, Asiana will cut its Seoul-Sydney from daily to six-times weekly, also from October 30. The exception to this is from December 14-January 10, when the service will operate daily.

Meanwhile Korean Air is to add three extra weekly services (making ten in total) between Seoul and Sydney, during the period December 12-January 30.

The extra flights will depart Sydney on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2150, arriving into Seoul at 0635 the next day, allowing passengers to connect on to flights to Europe without an overnight stop (albeit with a layover of around six hours on the London route).
