Gatwick Express introduces Euro ticket machines

Customers travelling on the Gatwick Express can now buy their tickets using Euros at its self-service ticket machines.

The operator has upgraded eight of its ticket machines at Gatwick airport to accept Euros, along with two at London Victoria Station.

Gareth Jones, head of customer services at Gatwick Express says, “We’re an internationally renowned service and carry travellers from all over Europe. We’re always looking at ways of making travel easier and now customers will be able to save time and buy tickets from our machines using Euros.”

Dot2Dot cuts fares

Airport transfer firm Dot2Dot is cutting its fares by 20 per cent until Christmas. Travellers booking tickets during October (for travel until December 24) can get a one-way ticket between Heathrow and central London for £16, down from the usual £20.

The price brings the Dot2Dot service under the price point for the Heathrow Express, which charges £16.50 for a one-way trip in standard class. Dot2Dot says that passengers booking in advance will not have to wait longer than 20 minutes at the airport for its service, while Heathrow Express runs every 15 minutes, taking 15 minutes for the journey between Paddington and Terminals 1,2,3 (21 minutes to T5).
